Born near the Ruhr River in Germany, and now based in Dortmund, Holger Droste is a surrealist photographer. Droste's black and white work is renown for his visual impact. His photographic vision is inspired by the old black and white Film Classics of the 40s and 50s. Droste also has a strong emotional connection to the past and he enjoys contrasting the modern world with older industrial cultures. Droste’s pictures have their own soul and expression and, depending on the photo, a mood and history which works in harmony to create an intimate, surreal shot.
