About this artwork
The fading landscape, which only gives an intuition of its complete form, suggests the feeling of being immersed and surrounded by the immense, the limitless. By revealing its essence through subtlety, this picture, by Italian artist Stefano Gardel, evokes the embracing sensation of returning to that which existed before everything, that something which is eternal.
Stefano Gardel’s (Italy) was born in Milan in 1980, but shortly after moved with his family to Lugano, Switzerland. A chiropractor by profession, he discovered only recently his passion and talent for photography, becoming professional in a very short time.
His mysterious and fascinating photographs often depict lonely landscapes and gloomy urban scenes, where common and familiar sights suddenly become less familiar, acquiring an out of worldly and more symbolic dimension. Collaborating with different art galleries worldwide, Stefano Gardel travels the globe extensively to capture the magic with his camera lens.
Our selection of his photographs has brought us from the dryness and the heat of the California desert to the cold and humid twilights of the Swiss Alps where he grew up.
