A Forgotten Pier

Seb Ruiz

About the artwork

A bridge to nowhere, from sand to ocean. But for what purpose? One hundred years ago, did little boys swing their lines into the sea? Now, ultra-vivid colours give this forgotten pier a painterly quality. Sydney, Australia.

Seb Ruiz grew up along Sydney's Eastern Beaches, growing up in Maroubra and slowly moving north towards Bondi where he now resides.

He picked up a camera 15 years ago to document overseas travel. Returning home to Sydney was always exciting – to continue to capture the amazing moments that the city hides from its bustling citizens.

The most rewarding part of the photographic process for him is to be able to share his artwork with the world and inspire his viewers to experience life beyond what is seen and expected every day.

He would find it hard to live away from the ocean, and through his photography aims to show the world his perspective on such an incredible city we live in.
